| Data Controller: |
any Person in the DIFC who alone or jointly with others determines the purposes and means of the Processing of Personal Data. |
| Data Processor: |
any Person who processes Personal Data on behalf of a Data Controller. |
| Data Subject: |
the individual to whom Personal Data relates. |
| Filing System: |
any structured set of Personal Data which is accessible according to specific criteria, whether centralized, decentralized or dispersed on a functional or geographical basis. |
| Identifiable Natural Person: |
is a natural person who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identification number or to one or more factors specific to his physical, physiological, mental, economic, cultural or social identity. |
| Personal Data: |
any information relating to an identified natural person or Identifiable Natural Person. |
| Processing: |
any operation or set of operations which is performed upon Personal Data, whether or not by automatic means, such as collection, recording, organization, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise making available, alignment or combination, blocking, erasure or destruction. |
| Recipient: |
any person to whom Personal Data is disclosed, whether a Third Party or not; however, authorities which may receive Personal Data in the framework of a particular inquiry shall not be regarded as Recipients. |
| Sensitive Personal Data: |
is personal data relating to an individual’s racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, offences and criminal convictions, trade union membership, health or sex life. |
| Third Party: |
any person other than the Data Subject, the Data Controller, the Data Processor and the persons who, under the direct control of the Data Controller or the Data Processor, is authorized to process the Personal Data. |
